The Back Story

PITMASTER + POURMASTER = ⚡

Beast & Bird began its flavorful journey in 2021 as a mobile food truck, delighting Vinton, Iowa, and neighboring communities with mouth-watering barbecue creations. Pit Master Logan Merchant's dedication to quality and flavor quickly garnered a loyal following, with eager patrons lining up and the truck frequently selling out.

Concurrently, the father-son team of Clay and Justin McBride launched McBride Mobile Taps, delivering a unique, self-serve beverage experience to private events across Eastern Iowa. Their innovative approach and commitment to excellence made them a sought-after choice for event beverage services.

Recognizing a shared passion for exceptional food and drink, these two enterprises united in 2024, transforming a venue at 314 N K Ave in Vinton into a vibrant restaurant and speakeasy. This collaboration melds Beast & Bird's renowned barbecue with McBride Mobile Taps' distinctive beverage offerings, creating a destination that celebrates culinary craftsmanship and community spirit.
